WEST JORDAN, Utah, April 7, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — Two juveniles were taken into custody late Thursday night after they lost control of the car police say they stole out of the VASA Fitness parking lot.
West Jordan Police Sgt. James Kangas said the youths, both 17 years old, were runaways from West Jordan. As they were driving northbound on Bangerter Highway at about 10:30 p.m., a friend of the vehicle’s owner spotted the car and began to follow it.
Kangas told Gephardt Daily that apparently the youths realized they were being followed and sped up, losing control of the vehicle and crashing at about 7000 South on Bangerter, where they hit the wall.
The driver of the car was transported to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening. Kangas said the driver had a broken leg. The other youth was transported to juvenile detention.
As a person who has suffered a few accidents.. And looking at the post of this guys car on his page.. The car hot that wall HIGH IMPACT !!!
Regardless of anything, ANYTHING!!! The cops should’ve taking both boys to the hospital first. And then the detention center.
My friend had a broken neck but said she felt fine, turned her head and fell down dead. True story..
At 17 years old, these boys needed to be taken to the hospital. Both of them !
I watched as they were both loaded into the ambulance and transported. Instead of enabling these teens how about condemning their actions. For instance the fact that they are responsible for the total destruction of a man’s car because of their reckless act of stealing and then driving like idiots. Instead of worrying about whether one of them was transported or not, how about worrying about how they could of killed an innocent bystander or pedestrian or another motorist. Stupidist comment of the day award.
Stupidist isn’t a word. But I agree.
They were both transported to the hospital. Don’t believe everything the news reports.
