WEST WEBER, Utah, Aug, 22, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — An 8-year-old boy was hit and killed by a car in West Weber Thursday afternoon.
Weber County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Cortney Ryan told Gephardt Daily the incident occurred in the area of 900 N. 4400 West in an unincorporated area of West Weber at approximately 3:30 p.m.
Ryan said the child was riding a bicycle along the dirt edge of a road that had no sidewalk or curbs when he was struck by a pickup truck.
The child was declared deceased at the scene, Ryan said.
The driver of the pickup truck is fully cooperating with authorities and it does not appear at this time that impairment was a factor in the incident.
The identity of the child is not being released due to his juvenile status.
