OGDEN, Utah, April 4, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — The Ogden Police Department has identified a suspect in the Sunday shooting of a local man.

Noel Andrade, 33, was identified as a suspect in the shooting. He was subsequently arrested and charged with aggravated assault, possession of a firearm by a restricted person, and multiple drug-related charges.

Ogden City Police Lt. Jake Sube said officers responded to several reports of shots being fired in the area of 2900 Van Buren Ave. at approximately 4:45 p.m. Ogden Metro SWAT team members secured the scene and located evidence of a shooting, but could not find a victim.

During the on-scene investigation, police were notified that a 23-year-old male arrived at a local hospital with a gunshot wound. The wound was not life-threatening, and the victim was released from the hospital several hours later.

Sube said it appears the shooting incident could be gang-related. Detectives from the Ogden Metro Gang Task Force will continue to investigate the case.
