SPANISH FORK, Utah, June 2, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — Police say the body of a Spanish Fork man missing since March 12 was recovered Saturday near Spanish Fork Peak.

Joshua Clarke left his home March 12 and was last seen that evening in the area of 2400 South and 1400 West in Mapleton, Spanish Fork police said on social media. He was reported missing the next day.

On Saturday, a family member was using a drone to search the mountain area of Spanish Fork Peak, just east of the city. They located a body believed to be Clarke, police said in a news release Sunday.

With the help of the Utah County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue and a Utah Department of Public Safety helicopter, the body was retrieved and sent to the state medical examiner for an autopsy and positive identification.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the Clarke family during this difficult time. We thank all the volunteers who have assisted with searches over the past couple of months in an attempt to locate Joshua Clarke,” the release says.
