BOUNTIFUL, Utah, Feb. 28, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — Children from Bountiful’s Washington Elementary School found the body of a Marriott-Slaterville man in a Mill Creek channel that runs along the school’s playground.
According to information released Tuesday night by the Bountiful City Police Department, the students found the body at 2:40 p.m. Monday. The playground supervisor called 911, and crews from the Bountiful City Police Department and South Davis Metro Fire arrived and discovered the partially submerged body of a man, later identified as Jeremy Shane Isaacson, 38.
There were no obvious signs of trauma, according to the BCPD report.
Isaacson was known to have been in the area on Feb. 25 when he was stopped for lane and speed violations on U.S. 89. When officers detected alcohol on his breath, Isaacson reportedly fled in his vehicle.
After a short pursuit, officers lost sight of Isaacson, according to the BCPD news release. The vehicle was found later at 600 South and 500 West, but Isaacson could not be located.
The case remains under investigation, as does the cause of Issacson’s death, according to the Bountiful Police Department statement.
