SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, March 14, 2026 (Gephardt Daily) — Salt Lake City police say a brawl outside a bar led to a shooting in downtown Salt Lake City overnight.
SLCPD Lt. Brandon Hansen told Gephardt Daily at the scene that multiple units were called to 200 South 165 East about 1:14 a.m. on reports of multiple shots fired.
According to Hansen, a lone victim, described as an “unattended target,” was struck in the abdomen about a half-block from the fight and suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
Witnesses who live a short distance from the bar said they heard an estimated 20 to 30 gunshots.
A male suspect, whom Hansen said was believed to have possible gang ties, was taken into custody
