New details released after 2 men killed in Magna crash on S.R. 201

MAGNA, Utah, March 27, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Utah Highway Patrol troopers have released new details in a double-fatal rollover accident on State Route 201 near 9000 West in Magna.

Dispatch was notified of the crash at 4:42 p.m. Wednesday.

“A white Subaru with two occupants, both male, ages 21 and 26, was headed northbound on 9120 West to turn westbound on S.R. 201,” says a statement released Wednesday night by the Utah Highway Patrol. “A gold Nissan Pathfinder with a single male occupant, age 42, was traveling eastbound on S.R. 201.

“The Subaru traveled northbound to attempt a left turn to westbound S.R. 201. When the Subaru entered the eastbound lanes of SR 201, the Nissan crashed into the Subaru, T-boning the driver side door. Both the driver and the passenger in the Subaru were pronounced dead on scene.

“The driver of the Nissan was transported in serious condition to IMC in Murray. It is unknown if impairment was involved at this time.”

The names of the victims have not yet been released.

The accident brought rush hour in the area to a standstill.
