SALT LAKE CITY, UT – August 6, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) – Salt Lake Police are investigating a Thursday night collision between a TRAX train and mini-van near 400 South and 800 East.
The accident happened around 9:15 p.m. on UTA’s eastbound Red Line route.
Daniel Montes, a passenger inside the mini-van, told Gephardt Daily the van was making a left hand turn onto 800 East when the train slammed into them. Airbags inside the van deployed and no one inside was injured.
Police say they train continued on its route after the accident apparently unaware of the collision.
Investigators are still trying to determine who was at fault.
