Cessna 172 airplane flips over on runway at Ogden-Hinckley Airport

OGDEN, Utah, Jan. 23, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — A Cessna 172 airplane reportedly flipped over on a runway at the Ogden-Hinckley Airport Wednesday afternoon.

Airport officials said a student and instructor were flying the fixed-wing single engine airplane at approximately 5:45 p.m. The student was practicing touch and goes, an exercise where where you line up with the runway then come down, land and take off again.

During the exercise, the student reportedly lost control of the plane and it flipped over on the runway.

There were no injuries as a result of the crash.

According to data on the airplane, it has a private owner and is 42 years old; it was built in 1977.

The exact extent of damages to the plane is unknown at this time.
