SOUTH SALT LAKE, Utah, Jan. 22, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — Firefighters from three agencies responded to a commercial fire on Sunday morning.
The fire was at Arctic Spa, 2368 State. The call came in at about 9:50 a.m. from someone driving by the scene.
“On arrival, there was a fire on the second floor of the building,” said Blaine Diamaru, South Salt Lake Fire Department Battalion Chief. Also responding were firefighters from the Salt Lake City Fire Department and the Unified Fire Authority, Diamaru said.
“We are always concerned that there might be someone inside, so our protocol is to search and make sure everybody has cleared the building.”
The building was empty. Firefighters located the blaze on the second floor and put it out.
Inspectors planned to search for the cause of the fire after the structure was declared safe. A damage estimate on the fire was not immediately available.
