COTTONWOOD HEIGHTS, March 26, 2026 (Gephardt Daily) — Unified Fire Authority crews, along with firefighters from Sandy, are on the scene of a multi-alarm blaze in Cottonwood Heights, hours after the fire broke out.
The flames were first reported before noon in a three-story home located in the 2900 block of Robidoux Road adjacent to the Willow Creek Country Club.
Video shared by neighbors shows an explosion coming from the roof during the early stages of the fire, the cause of which has yet to be determined.
Unified Fire Authority Public Information Officer Ben Porter confirmed to Gephardt Daily that at least 14 firefighting units responded to the scene and are expected to remain on site through the night as the fire continues to burn.
“We are still in defensive mode,” Porter said, about 5 p.m. “Crews have yet to make their way fully into the actual structure, due to the heavy fire load.”

Four people have been displaced and are receiving assistance from the American Red Cross.
Porter said a dog and cat escaped the flames, although the cat was originally unresponsive when firefighters briefly entered the residence. “Fire crews gave the cat oxygen and were able to revive it. They returned the cat to family members who took it to a veterinarian.”
