HURRICANE, Utah, July 2, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — Utah State Parks officials are expected to release a  statement Wednesday about a possible drowning Sunday at Sand Hollow Reservoir.

St. George emergency dispatch said Hurricane Valley Fire and Rescue and park rangers responded to the incident at the reservoir, which is part of Sand Hollow State Park. But any further statement was to come only from the state parks division on Wednesday.

Initial reports said a swimmer was struggling in the water there Sunday afternoon and was taken to shore by boaters where emergency responders administered aid.

Gephardt Daily will update the story as more information becomes available.
