SOUTH OGDEN, UTAH – July 22, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) —  Robbery suspect Liam Gale was apprehended after a multi-agency manhunt that led to a residence in Ogden this afternoon.

Deputies from Weber County Sheriff’s Office along with officers from South Ogden PD, Riverdale PD and Ogden PD, apprehended Gale, 26, at a house on 40th Street.

Gale had been spotted around 11 a.m. at the 7-Eleven on 40th & Adams. A short time later, detectives saw him walking on 40th Street. When they tried to make contact with him, he fled on foot into a nearby neighborhood.

Gale is suspected of robbing the Motel 6 on 21st Street in West Haven at knife-point on July 20. Detectives received several tips by phone and through social media regarding Gale’s identity.

The manhunt today involved about 20-30 officers. A perimeter was established and officers along with K-9 units systematically searched the area. A UHP helicopter also provided air support.

After about an hour of going door to door, it was discovered that Gale was hiding in the residence at 321 40th Street. Just before 1 p.m., officers along with AP&P agents entered the house and Gale was taken into custody without incident.

Four other people at the home were detained and could face obstruction of justice charges for harboring a fugitive.

Gale will now be facing aggravated robbery and avoiding apprehension charges. He was taken to the Weber County Sheriff’s Office to be interviewed before being booked into jail.
