DRAPER, Utah, July 1, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Draper City Fire Department is mourning the loss of Fire Marshal Bryan Thatcher, who passed away Friday night, according to a Facebook post.
“Fire Marshal Bryan Thatcher unexpectedly passed away at his home leaving a huge void in his family and our department,” the post said. “We are extremely saddened by this tragic event and are left trying to find the words to express our sorrow.”
Thatcher was hired by the Fire Department as its new Fire Marshal just one year ago, the post said.
“He brought with him a tremendous amount of knowledge and experience from over 20 years in the fire service and the State Fire Marshal’s Office,” the post goes on.
“Bryan had a passion for the work he was doing and has worked very hard over the past year to build and establish our own programs within Draper City Fire Department. He was a true professional and loved by his Draper City and Draper City Fire family.
“We send our heartfelt condolences to his immediate and extended family. They will forever be part of our fire family.”
No other details of Thatcher’s death were given.
The Fire Department will be posting details on funeral services for Thatcher at a later time.
