DRAPER, Utah Nov. 30, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Police in Draper are looking for a suspect after they say a man in a badly damaged 2017 Ford truck intentionally rammed an officer’s vehicle and fled the area.

Police believe their suspect is 24-year-old David Lee Jordan.

The incident began at about 3 a.m. Friday near 134413 S. Minuteman Drive, Draper. Officers noticed the silver Ford F-150 with extensive front-end damage and a shattered windshield.

“The driver of the truck stopped, backed up, and intentionally rammed into an officer’s vehicle,” says a statement from Sgt. Scott Adams, Draper Police Department.

“The suspect fled south on Minuteman Dr. Draper officers were unable to locate the vehicle. The police vehicle sustained front end damage. Fortunately, no officers were injured during this incident.”

Shortly after, Unified Police Department attempted to stop a vehicle matching the above described truck in Sandy. The driver of the truck did not stop for officers, and fled the area. UPD did not pursue the vehicle.

After further investigation, officers say they identified the driver of the vehicle as Jordan.

“Jordan has an extensive criminal history and we ask if the public sees Jordan not to approach him and call 911,” the DPD statement says.

If anyone knows the whereabouts of Jordan, the department asks them to call 801-840-4000.
