Separate Drive-By Shootings At Same Home Injure Two People

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Dec. 28, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) — The same home in Salt Lake City was shot at twice over the weekend, injuring two people with bullets and glass.

According to Salt Lake City Police, three individuals were sitting on the front porch at 1100 S. 200 East just after 1 a.m. Friday when an unknown vehicle approached and a person inside fired multiple rounds at the home. Shrapnel from one of the bullets struck one of the victims in the leg.

Officers were called again at 3:25 a.m. when another shot from was fired through the front window of the same home and a male victim was injured when the glass from the broken window went into his eye.

“We had four victims, three males and one female, and one of the males left the scene before police arrived,” said Salt Lake Police Det. Greg Wilking. “No one said they knew why they could be a target and all three gave different descriptions of the suspect vehicle, ranging from white, gray, and black, as well as an SUV to a small sedan.”

Wilking said it appears the incident could be gang related, but officers have not been able to identify any suspects.
