WOODS CROSS, Utah, Jan. 28, 2021 (Gephardt Daily) — A worker at a wood-processing plant in Woods Cross was transported by medical helicopter on Thursday after her arm was amputated in an industrial accident.

The accident happened at about 1:10 p.m. in the area of 1959 S. 1100 West, Woods Cross assistant police chief Adam Osoro told Gephardt Daily.

“A 48-year-old woman got caught in machinery, and her right arm was amputated above the elbow,” Osoro said. “She was an employee working with a wood stacking machine when her jacket became entangled in the machinery.”

The woman was flown by medical helicopter to an area hospital, Osoro said adding she was in critical but stable condition.

“We hope for the best for the woman involved,” he said.

Gephardt Daily will update the story as more information becomes available.
