Flash flood warning issued for parts of southern Utah

SOUTHERN UTAH, Sept. 1, 2021 (Gephardt Daily) — A  flash flood warning has been issued for parts of southern Utah Wednesday morning.

The warning, which is in place until 11:30 a.m., applies to Kane and Washington counties including Zion National Park.

“Rangers at Zion NP indicate flash flooding across slot canyons between Temple of the Sun and the Twins,” said a tweet from the National Weather Service Salt Lake City at 9 a.m. “Avoid this area!”

Residents and visitors are being warned to avoid walking or driving through flood waters and to move to higher ground if necessary.
