CLEARFIELD/OGDEN, Utah, May 20, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Police in Davis and Weber counties were busy in the early hours of Monday morning when four juveniles in a truck led them on a pursuit from Clearfield into Ogden.

The incident began at about 12:49 a.m. as Clearfield officers were patrolling near 400 East and 2200 South, where several vehicles were recently burglarized, Clearfield Police Lt. Brody Warren told Gephardt Daily.

“A male ran to a suspicious vehicle, and the officers went to investigate,” Warren said. “They fled and struck the patrol vehicle.”

The impact disabled the police car. It is believed that the truck they were in was stolen, Warren said.

Other officers followed the truck eastbound on Antelope Drive, then north on Interstate 15. When they reached Ogden, the fleeing juveniles took a circuitous route heading north on Washington Boulevard, winding back and forth through downtown, then west to Ogden’s “alphabet streets,” then back east on 31st Street.

The pursuit finally ended with a crash on the 600 block of 31st Street.

Lt. Warren said one male juvenile apparently had minor injuries and was transported to the hospital as a precaution.

Scanner traffic indicated that at least one of the suspects is female; however, Warren was unable to confirm that.

All four juveniles were detained for questioning, after which they were to be transferred to the Farmington Bay Youth Center. Warren said it was early in the investigation, and officers were still working to identify each of the suspects. He said all are under 18, but he didn’t have their actual ages.

Gephardt Daily will update this developing story as more information becomes available.
