Hyrum middle school teacher accused of inappropriate relationship with student

HYRUM, Utah, April 11, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — A Hyrum middle school teacher is facing 13 counts of second-degree felony enticing a minor after allegedly having an inappropriate relationship with a student.

According to a news release from the Cache County Sheriff’s Office, Duane Behrmann, a teacher at South Cache Middle School, has been booked into the Cache County Jail.

“There is no indication of any other victims at this time, but the investigation is ongoing,” the news release said.

According to a staff directory on the school’s website, Behrmann, 51, taught history.

Jail records show Behrmann was arrested at 7:15 a.m. Wednesday. Bail has been set at $130,000.
