UHP: DUI Roll Over Closes I-15
Murray, March 21, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) –
A Utah driver is in critical condition after an early morning crash on I-15.
According to Utah Highway Patrol, Christopher York, age 31, was driving southbound when he suddenly veered and collided with a guardrail before crashing on the I-215 West on-ramp.
Investigators say the Jeep Cherokee he and a passenger were riding in flipped onto its roof and slid 400 feet before coming to a stop. Â Both York, and his passenger had to be pried from the vehicle. The passenger was uninjured.
Troopers say York was intoxicated at the time of the crash with a blood alcohol content three times the legal limit.
York has been charged with DUI.
The UHP says the Utah State Bureau of Investigation will looking at potential charges against the bar York and his passenger had been at prior to the crash for possible over-serving.
