WEBER COUNTY, Utah, May 12, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — A man who died Wednesday night in Weber County after the truck he was driving hit an I-84 overpass bridge and burst into flames has been identified.

Utah Highway Patrol officials said 61-year-old Brent M. Fullmer of Layton was traveling east on I-84 just before 6 p.m. near mile post 85 in a Cadillac Escalade when he veered from the inside lane and hit the overpass bridge at freeway speed.

Fullmer was killed upon impact. There were no witnesses to the actual accident, but passing motorists came upon the crash site and pulled Fullmer’s body from the burning vehicle.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing and it is not known why Fullmer went off the road and into the structure.

The people who stopped to help were not injured.
