LAYTON, UTAH – September 21, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) – Layton Police have arrested a man who allegedly attempted to burn down his parents’ home last Sunday afternoon.
Brian Shaw was taken into custody with help from mental health facilities in Nevada and Utah, and has been charged with aggravated arson.
According to Layton City Police Department, Shaw, who has been diagnosed with a mental illness and was not currently taking his medication, is believed to have started a fire in his parents’ garage at 2196 E. Antelope Drive on September 13, burning its entire contents including a car that was inside the garage.
