LEHI, UTAH – August 10, 2015 (Daily Herald) – A 15-year-old girl who says a family friend had been raping and sexually abusing her for six years went to police on Friday to expose what was allegedly happening to her, according to Herald Extra.com.
According to police, the Lehi man was arrested early Saturday morning on suspicion of sexually abusing the 15-year-old girl repeatedly on and off over the last six years.
The victim told police the alleged abuse started when Jeremy Davis, 45, touched her inappropriately, then over the years progressed to raping her multiple times and forcing her into performing other sexual acts. He lived in the victim’s home with she and her mother.
At one point the abuse stopped because the victim’s mother, who knew Davis, confronted him. But the victim said the abuse started again a few years later.
The police report states that the abuse happened often when she was left alone with Davis in their home and he took her into his bedroom to have non-consensual sex with her.
The report states the most recent incident of rape occurred Aug. 4, 2015.
Following the police interview, police asked the victim to call Davis and ask him what she should do because she thought her mother knew he was abusing her again.
Davis apparently responded by speaking erratically and telling her he would “rather jump off a building or drive his car off a cliff” than admit to any sexual abuse.
The police report states Davis was arrested Saturday by Lehi police and during the interview at the police station Davis was acting very emotional and then told officers to shoot him because “his life was over.”
Davis apparently made multiple suicidal comments before he invoked his Miranda rights and refused to answer any additional comments.
Police reports state the victim’s mother told police Davis threatened to kill the victim and her family.
