KEARNS, Utah, July 5, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — A man was stabbed and left in critical condition late Thursday in Kearns.
Detective Ken Hansen, Unified Police Department, told Gephardt Daily that officials were alerted to the incident when a 23-year-old man with deep stab wounds was dropped at a hospital.
“It wasn’t until the patient was dropped at Taylorsville St. Marks at about 11:08 last night, in critical condition” that officials became aware, Hansen said.
“The victim and a female exited a house, and two suspects stopped their vehicle and got out, and at least one of the suspects stabbed the victim.”
The stabbing happened near 5700 S. Copper City Drive. A description of the males in the car was not immediately available.
Hansen investigators are still determining the relationship, if any, between the victim and his attackers, and what the motive may have been. Hansen was awaiting an initial report from investigators, he said, and did not know yet if the attack was gang related.
“There’s probably a lot more to the story,” he said.
