WEST POINT, Utah, May 30, 2026 (Gephardt Daily) — A man was found dead Saturday after Davis County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of shots fired in West Point at about 6:24 p.m.
Davis County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Megan Maybee told Gephardt Daily at the scene that deputies were dispatched following reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, deputies found a deceased man on the porch of a residence.
Investigators are searching for a vehicle believed to be connected to the incident. The vehicle has been described as a maroon sedan with a partial covering over the rear license plate.
The vehicle was last seen traveling northbound on 2000 West before turning eastbound on 300 North, according to the sheriff’s office.
Anyone who sees the vehicle is urged not to approach it and instead contact the Davis County Sheriff’s Office immediately.
