MIDVALE, Utah, Feb. 23, 2026 (Gephardt Daily) — A man is dead after a collision on southbound Interstate 15 at about 8300 South.
“There were two vehicles involved, a passenger car and a box truck,” Lt. Cameron Roden, Utah Highway Patrol, told Gephardt Daily.
“We do have one adult male who is dead in the passenger car.”
The collision happened at approximately 1:30 p.m. Roden said investigators were still on scene at about 2:20 p.m., “and they are trying to just connect all the dots and see what happened. So if we don’t know exactly what happened yet, but I can confirm there is that fatal crash right now.”
Roden estimated that the two right traffic lanes would be closed for at least two mores hours, stressing it was a guess.
Traffic will be delayed, and drivers who can take an alternate route are encouraged to do so.
Roden said more information will be released as the facts are confirmed.
