JUAB COUNTY, Utah, Jan. 13, 2018 (Gephardt Daiiy) — Juab County Search and Rescue crews, deputies and civilian searchers are scouring the Cherry Creek Reservoir area Saturday after the Jeep of two missing teens was found there Thursday with two flat tires, its windows down and hidden in a group of trees.

Missing since Dec. 30 are Brelynne “Breezy” Otteson, 17, and Riley Powell, 18. Otteson and Powell left Tooele after visiting family, and were planning to stop in Spanish Fork, then drive back to Eureka, where they live with family members of Powell.

Civilian groups of searchers were also invited to join in by the Juab County Sheriff’s Office, which on Friday posted this message:

We appreciate everyone that has offered to help assist in search efforts for Riley and Breezy. The Juab County Search and Rescue along with Juab County Deputies will continue searching the area tomorrow 1/13/18, where the vehicle was located, then broadening the search from that point.

Juab County Search and Rescue members will be stationed for traffic control on the Cherry Creek Road both north and south of our command post.
Any assistance from civilians is appreciated. At this time it is still unknown where the teens might be.

Cherry Creek is a large area, civilian search groups are encouraged to search areas outlying from our command post and traffic control teams located on the Cherry Creek road. If any civilian search groups need assistance or direction as where to search, please speak with one of our Search and Rescue Members conducting traffic control through the area.

Comments responding to the Sheriff’s Office post included multiple people saying they were praying for the teens’ safe recovery, people inviting each other to join the search, and a business promising refreshments to searchers.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the Juab County Sheriff’s Office at 435-623-1344, or the Tooele County Sheriff’s Office at 435-882-5600.
