SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH – July 15, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) – Salt Lake City Mayor Ralph Becker and Salt Lake County Mayor Ben McAdams celebrated 50 percent completion of the George S. and Dolores Doré Eccles Theater in the lobby of Neumont University today.

Construction of the 2,500 seat Eccles Theater at 143 S. Main Street is on schedule and will open to the public in the fall of 2016. The new, state-of-the-art theater, along with the redeveloped Regent Street, will serve as a community gathering place that connects and enhances the Capital City’s thriving cultural center.

The theater is expected to attract premier arts presentations and experiences, expand cultural offerings to residents and provide an economic catalyst to Salt Lake City, the state and the Intermountain West region.

Mayors Becker and McAdams were joined by City and County Council members, local businesses and Neumont University students, 80 of whom live on the Main Street campus.
