Moab Police seize drugs, cash in early morning traffic stop

MOAB, Utah, Oct. 2, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — Moab Police got more than they bargained for during a traffic stop for equipment violations early Friday morning.

A Moab City police officer made what began as a routine traffic stop at 200 S. Main St. just before 4:50 a.m., according to a news release from the department.

“The officer made observations which resulted in the arrest of the driver and the discovery of 10 pounds of suspected marijuana, 100 grams of what appears to be the illicit substance known as MDMA (ecstasy) and nearly $8,000 in cash,” the news release said.

The driver of the vehicle, Missouri resident Nathaniel Bryan Bowers, 39, was arrested for possession with intent to distribute narcotics, and was transported to the Grand County Jail.
