SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Aug. 11, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — Police are investigating after a fatal motorcycle crash in the early hours of Sunday morning.
The incident happened in the Capitol Hill neighborhood, near the Guadalupe TRAX Station.
Salt Lake City Police and Fire officials arrived at the scene, and found the 28-year-old man with critical injuries, pinned under his motorcycle.
He died at the scene, a SLCPD statement says.
“Based on the preliminary investigation, it appears the man misidentified the TRAX line as the roadway, drove down the middle of the rails, and crashed into the support rails at a high rate of speed,” the statement says.
No UTA TRAX trains were involved in the incident.
