SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, June 17, 2026 (Gephardt Daily) — A motorcyclist was transported to a hospital after it was hit by two cars near State Street and 2100 South Wednesday night.
The call came to dispatch at 9:29 p.m. Lt. Hansen, Salt Lake City Police, told Gephardt Daily. The motorcycle, ridden by a man estimated to be in his mid-20s, was northbound. A car headed south was turning left, intending to go east, when it collided with the motorcycle.
A third vehicle, trying to avoid the collision, ended up hitting the motorcycle again, Hansen said.
The severity of the injuries to the motorcyclist is not yet know, Hansen said, but the injuries are believed to be “significant,” he said. Because of the nature of the injuries, investigators were brought to the scene do document evidence for the investigation, Hansen said.
The people in the cars did not suffer significant injuries, Hansen said.
More information will be available as the investigation continues, he said. Police may be on scene for several additional hours, he said at about 11:45 p.m.
