WEBER CANYON, Utah, Oct. 22, 2025 (Gephardt Daily) — Emergency responders returned to Interstate 84 near milepost 90 on Tuesday, and reset their mental “rollover clocks” from 39 days since the last accident to zero days.
“Another month, another semi rolled over at the very same Milepost 90 westbound on Interstate 84,” says a social media post from Mountain Green Fire.
“Just 39 days ago we had our most recent rollover, until today when a semi carrying many 250-gallon totes of liquid fertilizer potassium hydroxide crashed near the Weber Canyon Power Plant.
“Mountain Green firefighters on engine 131 responded to assist Weber Fire District units and South Weber Fire ambulance 1 and other units. The driver was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.”

The leaking fertilizer was diked and dammed by firefighters to contain it on the side of the highway and away from the river,” the news release says. “Weber-Morgan Health Department responded to oversee the containment and removal.
“This is the 23rd semi since 2020 to crash in this exact spot.”
The department’s post says it remains “concerned that a more serious HazMat spill from other semis plying the canyon with truly hazardous substances may close the canyon for a long period and affect lives and the Morgan County economy.
“Signs specific to truck speeds seem to have no effect in stopping this onslaught. We encourage UDOT and UHP to lower all speed limits in Weber Canyon to 55mph and add more flashing signage very close to this curve westbound to slow all traffic there.”
