SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH – July 29, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) – Unified Police Department say what started as jaywalking offense ended with a man being tased after he threatened officers with a knife.
Lt. John Barker said a couple of detectives were scouting around the area of 7200 S. and 300 West, because there has been some trouble there recently.
They saw an individual jaywalking across 7200 S. and when they tried to stop him, he took off running, and produced a knife in a threatening manner.
They were able to get him cornered at a Days Inn at 7251 S. 300 West. “He was threatening with a knife so they used a taser to take him into custody,” said Barker.
Neither of the officers were injured in the incident.
