LAYTON, Utah, Oct. 6, 2021 (Gephardt Daily) — Police have arrested a suspect after a shooting in Layton on Tuesday night.
“Shooting suspect from last night has been booked into Davis County Jail,” said a tweet from Layton Police Department at 10:45 a.m. Wednesday. “He is 36-year-old Aaron Gaitan.”
Detectives had just finished at the scene, the tweet said.
The 35-year-old victim, who was shot in the leg, has now been released from the hospital.
The incident occurred in the area of 385 N. Main St. just after 10:30 p.m.
The victim was in a vehicle in his driveway and got into an altercation with Gaitan, according to police.
Gaitan allegedly shot the victim, then ran away, investigators said.
