DRAPER, Utah Dec. 1, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — A suspect wanted after Draper police say he intentionally rammed an officer’s vehicle Friday has been taken into custody.
David Lee Jordan, 24, has been booked on suspicion of assault on a peace officer, failure to stop at the command of police, possession of a stolen vehicle, criminal mischief, and leaving the scene of an accident.
The incident began at about 3 a.m. near 134413 S. Minuteman Drive, Draper. Officers noticed the silver Ford F-150 with extensive front-end damage and a shattered windshield.
“The driver of the truck stopped, backed up, and intentionally rammed into an officer’s vehicle,” says a statement from Sgt. Scott Adams, Draper Police Department.
“The suspect fled south on Minuteman Dr. Draper officers were unable to locate the vehicle. The police vehicle sustained front end damage. Fortunately, no officers were injured during this incident.”
After further investigation, officers say they identified the driver of the vehicle as Jordan. Officials distributed a photo of Jordan to the media and asked the public for information on his whereabouts.
On Saturday, Adams released a new statement:
“On November 30, 2018 at approximately 6:00 p.m., due to a tip provided
after the media release, David Lee Jordan surrendered to Draper City Investigators without incident.”
