Paul Swenson’s official cause of death revealed after American Fork man found in Mill Creek

SOUTH SALT LAKE, Utah, Nov. 1, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — The Utah State Medical Examiner has released a cause of death for an American Fork man whose body was found in Mill Creek in August.

Paul Swenson, 30, died of drowning, and tests found alcohol and THC — the high-inducing compound in marijuana — in his blood, according to the statement released Thursday by the South Salt Lake Police Department:

Medical Examiner’s Report

The Utah State Medical Examiner’s report on the death of 30 year-
old Paul Heiner Swenson was due to Drowning.

The toxicology report was positive for Alcohol (Ethanol) and THC
(Tetrahydrocannabinol).
There were no signs of foul play.
The investigation is still ongoing.

Swenson’s body was found on Aug. 13. He had disappeared on July 27 after complaining of chest pains and acting oddly, police said. His SUV was found near Parkview Elementary, 970 S. Emery St., in Salt Lake City.

Swenson was the subject of numerous organized searches before his body was located caught up in debris in the creek. A dedicated Facebook Page, Bring Paul Home had nearly 15,000 followers at the time of his death.
