WEST JORDAN, Utah, March 25, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — Police have identified and located a suspect wanted in an armed robbery of a smoke shop in West Jordan Monday.

Sgt. Joe Monson, spokesman for West Jordan Police Department, said Joshua Aldridge allegedly entered the Smoke Spot Vape Street located at 4663 W. 6200 South at approximately 6:40 p.m. on March 21.

In the probable cause statement, Aldridge was holding a black handgun and he pointed it at the clerk as he demanded money. He then left the store with an undisclosed amount of cash in a black Volkswagon Jetta.

During the investigation, detectives received a tip based on the photos released by the WJPD that could be Joshua Aldridge. Further investigation showed a 1997 black Volkswagon Jetta registered under the suspect’s name and when officers arrived at his home on March 25, they discovered the same shirt seen in the surveillance footage during the robbery and the gun.

He was arrested and booked into the Salt Lake County Jail on three felony charges including aggravated robbery, violation of probation or parole and possession of a firearm. He was also charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
