SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Nov. 25, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Police are searching for the suspect or suspects who vandalized a popular mural on the wall of Tinker’s Cat Café in Salt Lake City on Thanksgiving night.

The cafe, at 302 E. 900 South, houses cats that are up for adoption through Salt Lake County Animal Services.

The artist who painted the mural wrote on her Facebook page: “This has me upset beyond and heartbroken. Whomever decided to tag this mural I did for my friends at Tinker’s Cat Café over Thanksgiving should be ashamed of themselves … these people didn’t deserve this and they help our community. This mural also is a memorial to the owner’s family memories and to many cats that have passed away. A police report has been filed and any anonymous tips will be helpful.”

Anyone who has information on the vandalism can contact the Salt Lake City Police Department at 801-799-3000. To remain anonymous, text crime tips to 274637.
