MILLCREEK, UTAH – August 13, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) Police are searching for suspects after two separate ATM’s were targeted in the Millcreek area.
Unified Police said the first attempt was at America First Credit Union, 4519 S. 1300 East, Millcreek on June 27 at 1:27 a.m., and the second was at Mountain America Credit Union, 2174 E. 3300 South, Millcreek, on August 10, at 4 a.m.
In the June incident, two witnesses observed the occupants of a white SUV (Chevy Tahoe) attempting to break into the ATM at the America’s First Credit Union. The suspects immediately fled the area when they saw the witnesses.
It appears the suspects tried to drill into the ATM, and when that failed the suspects backed their vehicle into the ATM leaving pieces of a broken tail light cover behind.
On August 10 a citizen discovered that the ATM at the Mountain America Credit Union had heavily damaged and called UPD. Surveillance photos show that at 4 a.m. two individuals in a silver car had attempted to break into the ATM. Both had their faces covered during the crime.
In both cases UPD Officers and Detectives have been unable to locate or identify the suspects. UPD does not believe the two attempted thefts were committed by the same suspects and there is no direct link between the two events other than the nature of the crimes. No money was taken in either attempt.
The suspects in the June attempt are described as a Caucasian male, with a trimmed thin beard, tattoos on both biceps, wearing a dark “boonie” cap and a maroon short sleeved t-shirt. The male appears to be bald.
The second suspect is a Caucasian or Hispanic female, with long brown hair, wearing a black tank top, black sweater and light colored shorts.
The vehicle in this case was a newer white Chevrolet Tahoe 4-door with trailer hitch on the rear.
The suspects in the second attempt are a Caucasian female, wearing heavy black eye make-up, sunglasses, dark beanie cap, gray hooded sweatshirt and a blue bandana over her face and a Caucasian male, wearing a ball cap, black hooded sweatshirt and a white facemask.
The vehicle is a mid 2000’s silver 4-door Suzuki Forenza or similar compact car.
If anyone has any information about these attempted ATM thefts, or has information as to the identity of the suspects, they are asked to call the UPD Millcreek Precinct Detectives at 801-743-7000.
