SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, July 30, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Police are searching for a trio of suspects who allegedly beat a man with a hammer and attempted to stab him in his home, then stole property.
The incident occurred Friday at approximately 4 p.m. at a residence in the area of 500 S. 900 West, the Salt Lake City Police Department said in a news release Monday.
“The victim’s girlfriend was upset at him and broke some windows out of the home earlier in the day,” the news release said. “Later on, the victim heard his front door unlock and found his girlfriend standing in the front room with three males. An argument ensued and the three suspects beat the victim with fists, a hammer, and attempted to stab him.”
The suspects then stole property and fled the scene in a new white SUV, officials said. The suspects were described as one black man, one Polynesian man and one Caucasian man. All were average height; approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall.
The investigation into the burglary is ongoing, police said.
