DAVIS COUNTY, Utah, June 24, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — A 20-person hotshot crew is still at the scene of a large brush fire that lit up the night sky Friday in the area of 1500 N. Compton in Farmington.

According to Loyal Clark, public information officer for the National Forest Service Northern Utah Division, the Shepard Fire had grown to 130 acres by Saturday afternoon and was 30 percent contained.

Clark said no smoke was visible Saturday, so officials were optimistic that firefighters would be able to extinguish hotspots that could otherwise flare up.

Gephardt Daily will update this story as more information becomes available.
