Shots fired after suspects allegedly steal marijuana from victim in Salt Lake City

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Feb. 27, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Shots were fired after two suspects allegedly stole marijuana and a backpack from a victim in Salt Lake City Tuesday night.

Officers responded to a report of a hit and run in the area of 700 N. 900 West just after 11:30 p.m., the Salt Lake City Police Department said in a news release.

On arrival, they determined that a man had been robbed.

“The victim met the suspects on social media and agreed to bring them some marijuana,” the news release said. “The suspects took the victim’s marijuana and backpack. The suspects then fired a handgun as the victim resisted. The bullet struck the victim’s vehicle.”

As the victim drove away he collided with several parked cars.

The first suspect is described as Hispanic, about 18 years old, 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 9 inches tall, with buzzed hair, a thin build, and wearing a black hoodie with a pink and orange design.  The second suspect is described as Hispanic, about 20 years old, wearing a gray hoodie, armed with a handgun.
