SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Dec. 20, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) — Six people, including five teenagers, were seriously injured in a rollover accident Sunday night on Redwood Road.

According to Salt Lake City Police Lt. Martin Kaufmann, the accident happened at 7:17 p.m. when a black Lexus turned left onto 700 North from Redwood Road and collided with a northbound Ford Expedition.

Kaufmann said the Lexus, driven by a teenage boy, had four female passengers, ages 15 and 16. All the teens and the 28-year-old driver of the Ford were taken to area hospitals with serious injuries. None of the injuries appear to be life-threatening.

“The teenage driver of the Lexus was issued a citation for failure to yield,” Kaufmann said. “We do not believe drugs or alcohol were factors and there does not appear to be any impairment.”

Both vehicles were totaled in the collision.
