Springville police renew appeal in 2023 homicide investigation with $5,000 reward

SPRINGVILLE, Utah, May 23, 2026 (Gephardt Daily) — The Springville Police Department is continuing to investigate the 2023 homicide of Michael “Mikey” Mayer and is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and prosecution in the case.

According to a notice posted by the Springville Police Department, the homicide occurred Nov. 18, 2023, at approximately 2:45 a.m. at an apartment complex near 216 S. 100 West in Springville.

Police said investigators believe someone may have information that could help solve the case.

“Someone out there knows what happened to Mikey,” the department said in the post.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Foley at 801-489-9421.

Springville police said the reward is being offered for information that assists in the successful arrest and prosecution of the person or people responsible.

The department said it remains “determined to give Mikey justice.”

The appeal and reward information were posted by the Springville Police Department on social media.
