SPRINGVILLE, Utah, Dec. 26, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — A 14-vehicle accident caused snarled traffic on Interstate 15 in Springville Tuesday morning.
The incident occurred on northbound I-15 near mile post 262, south of East Bay in Provo, at approximately 6:30 a.m., Utah Highway Patrol spokesman Lt. Todd Royce told Gephardt Daily.
A number of cars lost control on black ice and heavy fog may also have been a contributing factor, Royce said.
A handful of people suffered minor injuries but were treated on scene and did not need to be transported to the hospital.
The far right three lanes were shut down due to the crash, but all lanes were reopened by 8:30 a.m. and traffic was flowing normally.
