SUMMIT COUNTY, Utah, May 23, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — A woman is dead after a head-on-collision Thursday morning in Summit County.
The accident happened at 8:46 a.m. at 4650 W. Browns Canyon Road, a Statement from the Summit County Sheriff’s Office says.
“Upon arrival, deputies discovered one driver was deceased and the other driver had critical injuries,” the statement says. “Preliminary information suggests the driver of a 2012 Toyota Camry was traveling westbound on Browns Canyon Road and veered into the eastbound traffic lane.
“The Toyota Camry hit a 2008 Toyota Highlander head on. The driver of the Toyota Camry, a 63-year-old female of Oakley, Utah, died on impact. The driver of the Toyota Highlander, a 31 year old male of Peoa, Utah, received critical injuries and was transported to a Salt Lake area hospital.”
The cause of the crash is under investigation, the statement says. There were no witnesses to the incident.
The identity of the decedent will not be released until family notifications have been made,” the SCSO statement says. “The Summit County Sheriff’s Office offers our most sincere condolences to the family and friends of the decedent.”
