Suspect Arrested After Attempted Carjacking, Allegedly With Handgun

SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH- July 31, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) – Salt Lake City Police Department said a 36-year-old woman reported that after pulling into her driveway at 1200 W. Pacific Ave. and starting to open her car door a man suddenly approached the car, pointed what looked like a handgun at her and demanded her car keys, yesterday at 10:13 p.m.

She immediately closed the car door. The suspect broke the driver side window with something in his hand and then ran back to another car and drove away. A responding officer saw the car nearby and initiated a traffic stop. The car stopped, the driver jumped out and fled. More officers arrived and found the suspect nearby. As he tried to flee a second time an officer deployed his tazer. Wesley Moser, 39, was booked for robbery and other charges. A handgun was not found.
