TAYLORSVILLE, Utah, July 25, 2026 (Gephardt Daily) — A fundraising account has been set up after the death of Lovine Aiulu Saili, 28, whose stopped car was struck Monday on Interstate 215 in Taylorsville.
A Utah Highway Patrol statement said that on Monday, the hood of Saili’s Hyundai Elantra unlatched, blocking her view of the roadway ahead.
“The driver of the Elantra stopped the vehicle between lanes two and three,” says a UHP news release, which shares the victim’s name. “A semi-truck traveling behind the Elantra was unable to stop and struck the rear of the Elantra. The driver of the Elantra sustained fatal injuries. The driver of the semi was uninjured.”
The GoFundMe account says it was set up by her friends, coworkers and community to help pay for her funeral and assist her aunt. As in all cases, Gephardt Daily cannot guarantee funds will be used in the way stated. The GoFundMe account is labeled “donations protected.”
The account says Saili’s “life was tragically cut short in a devastating accident while she was on her way to work. No family should have to endure such an unimaginable loss, and no one should have to carry the financial burden of laying a loved one to rest while grieving.
“Those who knew Lovine describe her as a loving, humble, and incredibly hardworking person. She was always willing to do whatever was needed for her team without ever complaining. She truly loved her job and her coworkers, and she cherished her family — especially her siblings, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
“Lovine had a radiant personality that shined a light on everyone around her. Her kindness, warmth, and unwavering work ethic left a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing her.”
