Two People Injured In Road Rage Incident In West Valley City

WEST VALLEY CITY, UTAH – October 2, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) – Two people were injured Thursday night after a road rage incident ended with shots fired at a family of six in West Valley City.

According to Roxeanne Vainuku, spokesperson for West Valley City Police Department, an argument between two drivers started around 5:50 p.m. at 3100 South and 3450 West.

Vainuku said the suspect and victim both continued west along 3100 South and in an attempt to get away from the suspect, the victim made a left turn onto 4300 West. As the suspect vehicle passed by the victim’s van, the suspect fired several shots into the van.

The van was carrying six passengers, all related, and two of the occupants were hit, a 19-year-old female who was hit in the leg and juvenile male. Both victims suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Police are looking for a compact four-door car, dark gray or flat black with red rims and red spoiler. The suspect driver is described as 30-40 years old, possibly Hispanic or Polynesian.
